LKO received a request for a sub grade survey from one of the major Swedish Rail Contractor‘s in early November. The 35 kilometer stretch for the survey was selected as a new track been installed and the customer likes to deliver a report confirming that enough material was used for the sub grade. We have performed a couple of similar surveys in 2010 and 2011, but the special thing this time is the new extension bracket that places our laser in a perfect angle to the object. LKO / L-KOPIA are also working with Zetica from U.K. with a combination ballast /sub-grade profiles and ground radar penetration.
The post processing for the special Swedish survey follows our well proven ballast profile and volume concept. We add a template for both ballast and sub-grade and calculate volume and profile in relation to the given template. Please check out the ballast profile sample in the ”LD Clearance, Ballast and Track Center Measuring System” section on our website. |
L-KOPIA continues with several surveys in eastern United Sates. We just finished a five day survey in Pennsylvania and are now heading back to Boston for MBTA. Furthermore, L-KOPIA delivered a LD ClearLoad & WideLoad program to a Railway in Eastern Canada, in mid November. The training program will take place in early December.
