LKO has been working hard on a very important bid for Swedish Rail (Banverket) since August of 2009. The comprehensive 95 page bid took a lot of effort from both LKO personnel and from hired experts (to comply with new requirements). Bids are much more complicated nowadays, as we need uniform rules and regulations for EU.
Well, it was worth all the hard effort as LKO Teknik AB was the successful bidder. We signed the 4-5.5 year contract (1.5 year option, if we perform as expected) in the end of November. LKO will start the Swedish Rail (Banverket) project in March of next year. In the meantime, lots of preparations will be made. L-KOPIA will send a F-350 (2003) Laser Truck to Sweden later this month. The Ford Laser Truck was meant for Canada, but L-KOPIA does not have enough business to justify a “full time” vehicle “up north”. |
L-KOPIA delivered a LD_WIN GPS/DGPS upgrade to one of our railroad customers in Atlanta. Gary Mitchell checked the equipment and hooked everything up while passing thru Atlanta in early December. Gary was on his way to a clearance survey for GCRR.
As mentioned in our November Newsletter, L-KOPIA will give a presentation of our new LD ClearLoad and WideLoad simulation programs in Fort Worth, TX on December 15th. New is, among many advanced features, a first integrated database for use with larger railroads clearance data. Please contact us for more information. LKO and L-KOPIA are still working on last minute projects for 2009, but unfortunately the wheather on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean is not cooperating with us. The L-KOPIA DM&E survey can’t be finished right now as a first winter blizzard hit the Midwest this week. LKO will try to finish a Swedish Rail, Stockholm, project on the Lucia weekend (St. Lucia is on Dec 13th). Finally, we thank all our Customers and Associates for a Great 2009 and we wish you a Merry Christmas (and/or Happy Holidays) and a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2010. Please contact us for any questions or suggestions at your convenience. |
